ELDER'S CORNER

UMBRELLA
I was having breakfast with our leaders in the community in Brampton, Canada. It was the day of our Spirit Empowerment Seminar. We were having conversations on how the Lord is opening up new areas to plant churches. It was raining outside and they were not carrying their umbrellas. Then, the Lord caused my eyes to shift to an opened umbrella in the restaurant and He gave me an insight.
I pointed to the tip of the opened umbrella from where all the spokes meet. “This is Scarborough,” I said. “From here the spokes will radiate. Each spoke is a place: Toronto, Brampton, Calgary, Vancouver, Richmond, and other places.” “The Lord has already opened these places for us. Like this umbrella that has been opened.” It was a declaration from the Lord.
Deut. 28:12 “The Lord will open up for you
His rich treasure house of the
heavens, to give your land rain
in due season, blessing all your
undertakings so that you will
lend to many nations and
borrow from none.”
After the breakfast, we prepared ourselves for the Spirit Empowerment Seminar. That same day, some 40 people filled up the seminar hall and were baptized in the Spirit. The Spirit has touched them so powerfully that many stayed a little more to give their testimonies and to bask and stay a little more on their anointing.
Just then I was reminded:
“Indeed the Lord God does nothing
without revealing his plan to His
servants the prophets” Amos 3:7
Reflection:
Leaders must ask for the grace to be able to read God’s ways of talking to them in situations and events.
Prescription for today:
Isa. 46:10 “At the beginning I foretell
the outcome; in advance things
not yet done. I say that my plan
shall stand I accomplish my every purpose”

THE LORD'S FLOCK IN UGANDA AFRICA
Sis. Techie led a 10-member evangelization mission team to Uganda
from Sept.1-6. It was upon the invitation of His Lordship Rt. Reverend Matthias
Ssekamanya of the Diocese of Lugazi Uganda. The purpose of the Bishop is for
Sis. Techie to introduce a charismatic renewal to all the parishes of the Diocese.
Sis. Techie conducted a powerful Spirit Empowerment Seminar attended by 400
Catholic workers of the Diocese.
The seminar demonstrated the power of the Holy Spirit which bade many
different manifestations of the outpouring of the Spirit. The Spirit's power
transcended the language & cultural barriers and everybody experienced the
power of God. The local leaders were so amazed because nothing like that has
happened before in Uganda. The Lord's Flock mission is the first evangelization
outreach that came to Uganda. It represented the Catholic Fraternity where the
Bishop first met Sis. Techie in Assisi.
The experience of the Catholic Lay Leaders spread immediately to the
neighboring parishes that their last session on Sunday, Sept. 5 swelled in
attendance. The team also learned many things of the way Africans worship. The
entire congregation was swaying, dancing & singing all throughout the seminar.
The Bishop requested Sis. Techie to comeback after January 15, next year 2012 to
conduct training of leaders coming from various parishes.
