  • TLF INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL ADVENT RECOLLECTION

The Lord's Flock 2011 Annual Recollection, hosted by the Daly City Chapter, was held on November 12-13 at the Convention Plaza Hotel in San Jose, CA. The theme for the retreat and the upcoming year is "Bountiful Harvesters, Bountiful Harvests."

On Saturday, the day began with registration and seating. Each table represented a different fruit in light of the new theme. Following was the TLF Anthem, Bible Enthronement, and Praise & Worship. Although the weather outside was cold and cloudy, the room was hot with enthusiasm and zeal to praise and worship the Lord.

Before the first topic, the members participated in a fun icebreaker: "Bahay/Baboy/Bagyo." Ensuing the game, the members were now fully awake and ready to receive the first talk. The topic was "The Harvest is Plentiful," given by Sor. During lunch, everyone was called to fast.

The afternoon session commenced with another Praise & Worship, followed by several breakout sessions of topics given by Sor, Sis. Mik, and Bro. Froilan. After dinner and the photo session, in the last event of the day, each table/group took part in a special activity of presenting their hidden talents: "TLF Got Talent."

On Sunday, the second day of the retreat, a delicious breakfast buffet was served. Next were Praise and Worship, another game: singing Christmas songs with "meow" replacing the lyrics, and a breakout session. Then, the general assembly reunited and Sor gave the last topic: "The Heart Must Be Hot." Immediately following was Anointing and the Holy Mass presided by Fr. Raymond Reyes from TLF Masantol Chapter in Pampanga, Philippines.

The closing event of the retreat was the Jericho March. Hearts were set ablaze as the members marched and danced around the room seven times. After the seventh turn, everyone blew their "torotots" or mini horns and shouted and jumped for joy. Praise God for a successful retreat and we pray for an equally successful and bountiful upcoming year!
